Yess that's you right there, how long have you been on your phone today?
Let me guess, you'll feel bad for some time then get back to scrolling. But you need to change your short attention span by challenging yourself right now. I challenge you to read this entire blog post- no don't skim through it. Being able to this already shows you are not all talk but an action taker as well. let's get to the main topic shall we?

Social media, endless notifications, and the constant dopamine hits from quick-scrolling have rewired your brain to crave distraction.

But here’s the good news: you can undo the damage. Your brain adapts for better or worse. If you’ve trained it to be scattered, you can also train it to focus again.

Everyone has their favorite social media platform. Mine is Instagram, specifically, the comment section. Yes I'd take a 20 minute break that ill scroll through instagram for 20 minutes, ill check the time again and I realize ive spent over an hour already. feeling guilty, I decide to get back to business. Others tackle the guilt trap differently, they succumb to scrolling again. Well whichever one you are , the bottom line is you've wasted time and time wasted can never be gained. So I came up with 2 solid strategies that helped me and I'm hoping can also help you.

If you've gotten this far in reading, well done. You are actually taking a step many people can't because they always end at I want to change without doing anything about it.

These are my 2 solid strategies:

  1. Brain Gymning

Let me give you a task: Practice doing nothing for 10 minutes everyday day. No phone, no music, no distractions. Just sit and think about nothing. Do not rethink past activities nor future plans and over time, you’ll rewire your brain to tolerate and enjoy stillness.

Now put your phone down and go do something that actually matters. If you don't start now, when will you?
